An adaptable pavilion with an open amphitheater terrace integrated into the topography of the parkland. The terrace offers the opportunity for a market space, a reference to the site’s history and namesake of Chinese garden markets in the 1840s. The design plays with the undulating ground of the reserve, to sit lightly and peacefully in site that has an introverted, quiet character.
